Gubernatorial candidates Mikie Sherrill (D) and Jack Ciattarelli (R) are expected to speak at the Veterans Business Summit & Veterans Health Fair on Sept. 19 at Brookdale Community College.
The all-day event is being sponsored by the Veterans Foundation of America, in collaboration with Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone and Commissioner Sue Kiley. It also is expected to feature representatives of the N.Y./N.J. FIFA 2026 World Cup Host Committee, who will speak on vendor possibilities around the event.
The Veterans Business Summit & Veterans Health Fair, to be held at 765 Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, is designed to empower, support and honor veterans through a unique combination of business opportunities, health screenings, policy discussions and community connections.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The business summit will open at 8. The candidates are expected to speak starting at 10 a.m. Then, the Host Committee will explain how veteran-owned businesses can benefit from one of the largest global sporting events.
The health fair will begin at noon.
Retired Col. Jeff Cantor, founder of the Veterans Foundation of America, said the event will assist veterans in many ways.
“This is about opening doors — for contracts, for connections and for growth,” he said. “Our veterans deserve every opportunity to succeed in business and beyond.”
The summit will provide veteran entrepreneurs with direct access to procurement professionals from the public and private sectors eager to do business with veteran-owned companies.
The Veterans Business Summit is sponsored by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Fiserv, Johnson & Johnson and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
Running concurrently in the afternoon, the Veterans Health Fair — sponsored by Braven Health — will deliver free, comprehensive clinical services provided by RWJBarnabas Health and Hackensack Meridian Health.

In addition, the event will feature multi-cancer early detection screening through the SENTINEL clinical trial in collaboration with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute — a groundbreaking initiative focused on high-risk veterans impacted by toxic exposures and service-related stress.
“As an organization, we are moving from reactive care to proactive wellness,” Cantor said. “With early detection and preventative screenings, we can give veterans the fighting chance they deserve.”
The event is free to all veterans, service members and their families.
A complimentary luncheon will be served by Red, White & Que Smokehouse, a proudly disabled veteran-owned business, creating a warm and meaningful space for connection and camaraderie.
