Food and beverage enthusiasts across the region will gather for a great cause next month as The Arc of Essex County hosts its signature Uncorked & Capped fundraising event. Marking its eighth year, the popular tasting gala is scheduled for Oct. 1, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Hanover Manor in East Hanover.
Proceeds from the evening directly support the more than 1,500 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) served by The Arc of Essex County throughout New Jersey.

Attendees with tickets ($100) will enjoy three hours of unlimited tastings featuring a diverse mix of regional cuisine and premium beverages. The expansive menu features everything from barbecue favorites and Italian specialties to Ethiopian cuisine, alongside an array of gourmet desserts like pastries, gelato, and custom ice cream sandwiches.
To complement the food, guests can sample a wide assortment of beverages:
- Fine wines and sangrias
- Craft beers
- Specialty spirits and craft cocktails
- Refreshing smoothies and fresh juices
“Over the years, it’s evolved to become a signature tasting event that so many look forward to, and based on what is available this year… attendees are in for an incredible evening,” Kathleen Hinnigan-Cohen, CEO of The Arc of Essex County, said.
The event is backed by generous corporate partners, headlined by PSEG as the Platinum Sponsor. Gold sponsorships are provided by Walsh, Pizzi, O’Reilly, Falanga and Verizon Connect, with additional backing from local businesses and community advocates.
In addition to the live music and tastings on October 1, a virtual auction is already live at ArcAuction.com. Community members can bid on exclusive prizes, luxury getaways, and private dining experiences—and participation does not require event attendance.
