New Jersey Utilities Association heads to Jersey City for 111th Annual Conference

The New Jersey Utilities Association (NJUA) has announced it will host its 111th Annual Conference on May 27-28 at the Westin Jersey City Newport. Under the timely theme “Business As Unusual,” the event will bring together industry leaders to address the state’s most pressing challenges across electric, gas, water and broadband services.

The conference arrives as New Jersey navigates an era of unprecedented customer demand and rapid technological transformation, supporting nearly 10 million residents and businesses daily.

A central highlight of the event will be a special affordable energy panel featuring BPU President Christine Guhl-Sadovy and PJM Executive Director Jason Stanek. Alongside other industry executives, the panel will discuss the future of power in New Jersey, balancing the need for infrastructure investment with consumer affordability.

In a departure from traditional utility programming, the conference will feature keynote speaker Pablos Holman, a world-renowned hacker, inventor, and technology futurist. Holman, who has collaborated with Jeff Bezos at Blue Origin and Bill Gates on impact inventions, is expected to offer a unique perspective on distilling complex technology into practical tools for the utility sector.

The two-day event will also feature insights from:

  • Government Leaders: Jersey City Mayor Jim Solomon and Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo.
  • Business Advocates: Tom Bracken (NJ Chamber of Commerce), John Harmon (African American Chamber of Commerce), and Christina Renna (Chamber of Commerce Southern NJ).
  • Regulators: BPU Commissioners Michael Bange and Zenon Christodoulou, and NJ Ratepayer Advocate Brian Lipman.

Moderated by Tom Bergeron, Founder and Editor of BINJE and Raven Santana of NJ PBS, the conference will cover a broad range of topics including infrastructure investment, energy supply, and the integration of modern energy solutions.

From executives at PSE&G and New Jersey Natural Gas to leaders in the solar and water sectors, the speaker roster represents the full spectrum of the state’s essential service providers.
