Goya Foods opens applications for $20K culinary arts and food science scholarships

Jersey City-based Goya Foods, America’s largest Hispanic-owned food company, announced the launch of its annual scholarship program, offering $20,000 scholarships to students across the country pursuing undergraduate degrees in culinary arts and/or food science.

The Goya Culinary Arts and Food Science Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students entering their freshman year of college in Fall 2026. Each scholarship totals $20,000, disbursed as $5,000 per academic year, and is renewable for up to three additional years.

“For generations, food has been at the heart of family, tradition, and community,” Rafael Toro, national director of Public Relations for Goya Foods said. “By supporting students who want to study culinary arts, food science, and nutrition, we’re investing not only in their education, but in the cultural and culinary traditions that bring people together.”

Since launching the Goya Scholarship Fund, the company has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to students, including the children of Goya employees. The fund is administered by Scholarship America®.

Applicants will be selected based on standard criteria including academic achievement, leadership, community service, financial need, and a required essay describing how Goya has enriched their family traditions.
