Hackensack Meridian Health, Atlantic Health and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey have been named as three of the 2025 Top 50 “Best Workplaces in Health Care” by Fortune Media.
Hackensack Meridian was ranked highest in New Jersey, at No. 4 on the national list of large companies. Atlantic Health was ranked No. 6; Horizon came in at No. 36.
The Best Workplaces in Health Care award is based on an analysis of survey responses from nearly 228,000 employees at Great Place To Work Certified companies in the health care industry.
Hackensack Meridian CEO Bob Garrett was pleased to see HMH on the list — and on the list for the second consecutive year.
“Earning a spot on Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Health Care list for the second year in a row is a true testament to our remarkable team members,” he said. “Their innovation, dedication to excellence and unwavering compassion for patients and families continues to inspire us all.
“This recognition reflects not only the strength of our health network, but also our commitment to creating an environment where our team members can thrive and continue to deliver world-class care.”
The Best Workplaces in Health Care list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, determines its lists using its proprietary Trust Index Survey to evaluate and certify thousands of organizations in America’s largest ongoing annual workforce study, based on over 1.3 million survey responses and data from companies representing more than 8.4 million employees.
Survey responses reflect a comprehensive picture of the workplace experience. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, race, gender, sexual orientation, work status or other demographic identifier.
Earlier this year, Hackensack Meridian Health was also No. 72 on the Fortune Media and Great Place to Work “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. In 2024, Hackensack Meridian Health was named one of Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Health Care and Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Women — and has been recognized as a Certified Great Place to Work for nine years in a row.
“These accolades highlight our strong and aligned culture and our belief when our team thrives, Hackensack Meridian Health and our communities thrive,” Garrett said.
