Murphys head list of honorees at Meadowlands Chamber Legacy Awards

Governor, first lady to be joined by VanDeVeen, Edwards and Lozano at Oct. 16 event

Gov. Phil Murphy and first lady Tammy Murphy head a list of honorees at the always impressive Meadowlands Chamber Legacy Awards celebration, to be held Oct. 16 at MetLife Stadium, the chamber announced Monday.

The Murphys will be joined by MetLife Stadium CEO Ron Van DeVeen, N.J. Hall of Fame CEO Steve Edwards and Hackensack Meridian Health Chief Growth Officer Jose Lozano (who also served as CEO of Choose New Jersey).

Meadowlands Chamber CEO Jim Kirkos said the honorees have dedicated their careers to advancing causes and charitable efforts in New Jersey’s communities and highlighting the state as a global economic powerhouse.

Holding the 2025 Legacy Awards Event at MetLife Stadium in 2025 represents a distinguished and historic backdrop for all honorees, as the venue will be host to the biggest sporting event on earth – the FIFA 2026 World Cup.

Many of the honorees played an integral role in winning the bid for the Meadowlands to host not only several matches but also the final, where billions of fans across the world will be watching – once again securing New Jersey on the map as a destination for not only entertainment but also business, culture, and opportunity for all.

“Tammy and I are incredibly grateful to the Meadowlands Chamber for being named honorees at this year’s Legacy Awards,” Murphy said. “Over the past eight years, we’ve worked closely with Jim Kirkos and the entire Meadowlands Chamber team on issues ranging from economic development to transportation to concerts and sporting events. We are excited to join this year’s awards ceremony at MetLife Stadium as we prepare to host the biggest sporting event on the planet – the FIFA World Cup.”

In addition to celebrating all honorees, the Meadowlands Chamber is using this year’s Legacy Awards Ceremony to give its thanks to the governor and the first lady’s eight years of service to this great state and for being dedicated to bringing the World Cup to New Jersey including their public service to continue the state’s economic success and leadership.
