New Jersey Food Council welcomes three industry leaders as new board members

The New Jersey Food Council on Monday announced three new leaders to its Board.

Richard Goss of Whole Foods Market, Catie McCrossan of the Kraft Heinz Co. and Tom Cacciola of United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) were selected to serve on the Board because of their prominence in the New Jersey food industry, their vast experience and their dedication to NJFC.

“We are pleased to welcome these three talented individuals to serve on the Board,” NJFC President & CEO Linda Doherty said. “Their insights and expertise will help guide the Board as we advocate for the food industry and smart legislation that benefits grocers, wholesalers and consumers.

Goss serves as the executive leader of operations for Whole Foods Market and is a member of the Northeast Operating Area Senior Leadership Team. He shares oversight of facilities spanning from southern Connecticut to northern Virginia.

McCrossan has a diverse skill set across various disciplines, including sales, category leadership, strategic planning and management of top customers. After nearly nine years of growth and achievement at Nestle, McCrossan returned to her home state of New Jersey in 2021 to work at Kraft Heinz Co. where she was entrusted with leading a large team, demonstrating exceptional leadership, drive to deliver business growth and strategic vision.

Cacciola is a sales manager for UNFI.  He has nine years in wholesale work, beginning with Supervalu in 2017.  Cacciola previously was in store management at Giant Food Stores, was co-owner and operator of a Thriftway in Coatesville, Pa and has experience in independent retail store management.  He began his supermarket career as a teen, pushing carts and stocking shelves, like many other current and future leaders of NJFC.

The New Jersey Food Council is the Garden State’s preeminent trade association representing 1,200 retail food stores, wholesalers, manufacturing and service companies that collectively employ more than 200,000 associates in New Jersey.
