In a move that unites two long-standing New Jersey industrial powerhouses, A&M Industrial announced the acquisition of West Caldwell-based Tool-Krib Supply Company. The deal, which became effective April 15, significantly expands A&M’s technical reach and cutting-tool portfolio across the Mid-Atlantic corridor.
The acquisition is a strategic “joining of forces” for the metalworking industry, combining A&M’s extensive distribution network with Tool-Krib’s specialized “at the spindle” technical support.
For A&M Industrial, a firm that has operated out of Rahway since 1954, the acquisition is about more than just increasing inventory—it is about deepening specialized knowledge. Tool-Krib Supply Company brings a heritage that dates back to 1938 (originally founded as Van Duren Supply), carrying a reputation for high-performance tooling and premium brands.
“Tool-Krib shares our dedication to delivering technical expertise and providing customers with solutions that drive productivity,” David Young, president of A&M Industrial said. “By joining forces, we can continue a tradition of excellence while expanding our reach and capabilities to better serve the metalworking industry in our trading area.”
The merger is expected to provide industrial manufacturers in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania with streamlined access to:
- High-Performance Tooling: An expanded portfolio of premium cutting tool brands.
- Technical Support: Enhanced on-site expertise to help machine shops and manufacturers optimize their spindles and processes.
- MRO Resources: Integration into A&M’s massive catalog of over one million maintenance, repair, and operations products.
A&M Industrial has built its reputation on the principle established by its founder, Arny Young: “Put people first, and success will follow.” By absorbing Tool-Krib’s experienced staff and technical know-how, A&M reinforces its position as a leading independent distributor on the East Coast.
While Tool-Krib—a staple of the West Caldwell business community since its rebranding in the 1980s—will now be part of the A&M family, the focus remains on the specialized customer service that both North Jersey companies have championed for decades.
The acquisition is the latest in a series of moves by A&M to solidify its footprint as a total-solution provider for the industrial manufacturing sector, ranging from PPE and safety equipment to complex metalworking systems.
