Ashley Caldwell, the daughter of Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell, has joined Capital Impact Group as a government affairs associate, the firm announced Monday.
Caldwell, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers-New Brunswick, this spring, served as an intern at the firm this summer.
During her internship, Caldwell supported the firm’s advocacy efforts through legislative research, policy analysis, client communications, and strategic government affairs initiatives.
Prior to joining Capital Impact Group, Caldwell gained valuable experience in public service through internships with the City of New Brunswick and the Middlesex County Courthouse.
Caldwell also serves as the youngest elected member of the New Brunswick Board of Education, where she has spent the past two years advocating for students, families and expanded educational opportunities in her community.
CIG leaders said her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to public service made her a valuable member of the team and a natural fit for a full-time role.
“Ashley has already been invaluable to our firm and clients, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow,” CIG Principal Gerry Gibbs said.
In her new role, Caldwell will contribute to Capital Impact Group’s work advancing clients’ public policy priorities and developing effective government affairs and public affairs strategies, the firm said.
Caldwell’s commitment to public service is deeply rooted in her family’s legacy of civic leadership and education. In addition to her father, a public servant for decades, her late grandfather, Rev. Dr. Gilbert H. Caldwell, was a civil rights leader who marched alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Her grandmother, an educator, instilled in her the transformative power of education and community leadership.
