Tulfra Real Estate, a Rochelle Park-based real estate and development company, announced the grand opening of the first phase of its new development, Jersey City Self Storage, a state-of-the-art facility located at 300 Thomas McGovern Drive in Jersey City.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of the initial phase, which features a six-story building housing 797 modern, climate-controlled storage units and delivering 115,000 square feet of space.
Premier location in a high-demand market
When fully built out over three phases, the Jersey City Self Storage project will total 260,000 square feet, positioning it as one of the region’s premier self-storage destinations.
The grand opening event was attended by Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, local officials, community leaders, and representatives from project partners, including Fulton Bank (the lender) and JLL Capital Markets (which arranged the financing). Public Storage is managing and leasing the facility.
“This is a milestone not only for Tulfra but also for the Jersey City community,” Sonny Jumani, president/CEO of Tulfra Real Estate said. “We are proud to transform this former industrial site into a best-in-class storage facility that will serve thousands of residents and businesses in one of the fastest-growing markets in the nation.”
Strategic access for residents and businesses
The facility’s location is a significant asset, designed to serve the dense and transit-rich metropolitan area. The property is strategically situated just one mile from Exchange Place and the PATH station, offering a quick 20-minute commute to Lower Manhattan and a 30-minute connection to Downtown Brooklyn.
With direct access to Liberty State Park and easy connections to Midtown Manhattan via the Holland and Lincoln tunnels, the new facility meets the high demand for modern storage solutions in one of the nation’s most populous regions.
The opening of Jersey City Self Storage adds to Tulfra’s expanding self-storage portfolio, which now exceeds one million square feet of developed facilities across Northern New Jersey, reflecting the company’s focus on redeveloping underutilized sites into valuable community assets.
