WPU to launch entrepreneurs meetup series to boost local innovation and business skills

In an effort aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, small business owners and innovators to strengthen the local business community, William Paterson University is launching a new Entrepreneurs Meetup Series.

The series was developed in response to a growing demand among regional entrepreneurs for consistent networking and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Each session will feature a subject matter expert or seasoned entrepreneur sharing insights, lessons learned, and actionable strategies.

The meetings will be held on the morning (8:30 a.m.) of the last Tuesday of the month at the school’s Cotsakos College of Business in Wayne. The aim is to hold monthly meetings.

The first meeting, “Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property in the Age of AI,” will feature Matthew Sklar of McCarter & English.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the university’s Center for Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the N.J. Small Business Development Center at William Paterson University, and the Passaic County department of economic development.

NJSBDC Regional Director at William Paterson Melissa Rosario explained the purpose.

“Our network of consultants and experts covers business planning, marketing, finance, HR and more,” she said. “This network will be an integral part of the series, providing attendees with ongoing support and guidance beyond the meetups. Whether you’re just starting out or scaling up, there’s something here for everyone.”
