Rowan University launches new 30-credit MBA option to expand flexibility for grad students

Rowan University’s William G. Rohrer College of Business (RCB) has officially introduced a new 30-credit Master of Business Administration pathway, set to launch in fall 2026. The new program expands options for working professionals and full-time graduate students seeking a more streamlined, efficient route to a high-level business credential without sacrificing academic rigor.

The new offering complements Rowan’s established 36-credit MBA, responding directly to surging regional and national demand for flexible, high-ROI graduate business education.

While the traditional 36-credit program allows for broader customization—such as dual concentrations or extra electives—the new 30-credit pathway offers a tightly focused curriculum designed for students aiming to master a specific discipline efficiently.

Both pathways share the exact same foundational 18-credit MBA core curriculum, ensuring that every student develops advanced competencies in essential areas like accounting, finance, operations, organizational leadership, marketing, and strategic management. Students in the 30-credit option complete the shared core alongside one 9-credit concentration and one 3-credit graduate business elective.

“Graduate business education should not simply prepare professionals for the careers of today. It should empower them to shape the careers and opportunities of tomorrow,” Matthew Sarkees, dean of Rowan University’s William G. Rohrer College of Business, said. “By expanding our MBA options, we are increasing flexibility and ROI for students while maintaining the quality and applied business focus that define the Rowan MBA.”

Led by the same experienced Rohrer College of Business faculty who teach across the business portfolio, the flexible pathways accommodate diverse career stages.

Jennifer Maden, assistant dean for graduate studies and director of the MBA program, emphasized that the expansion is centered around student choice: “We can now help students choose an MBA structure based on what they want the degree to accomplish rather than assume that one structure is right for everyone.”
