Ascendia Bank strengthens leadership with two senior executives

Ascendia Bank, formerly known as Glen Rock Savings Bank, is expanding its leadership team with the addition of two highly experienced professionals. The bank, which has served northern New Jersey since 1922, has appointed Jonathan Jacobs as vice president/commercial lending manager and Paul Skinner as senior vice president/chief information security officer.

Jacobs brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial lending and credit analysis. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the bank’s commercial lending operations, including managing loan applications, providing client support, and leading a team of loan administrators and analysts. His background includes managing portfolios exceeding $90 million at Lakeland Bank/Provident Bank.

Skinner joins the team with over four decades of experience in IT and operations leadership within the banking industry. As chief information security officer, he will manage the bank’s information systems and technology infrastructure, oversee IT policies, and implement cybersecurity measures. His work is essential for ensuring secure and reliable technology for both the bank and its customers.

John Allen IV, president and CEO of Ascendia Bank, stated that the new hires will be “instrumental in strengthening both our commercial lending capabilities and our information technology infrastructure.” He added that their leadership will help the bank continue to grow while maintaining the high level of service and security that customers expect.
