Please take a moment to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11, doing so in the manner in which you see fit.
Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives on that day, including nearly 750 from New Jersey.
Gov. Phil Murphy ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings.
“On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we mourn the precious lives we lost that fateful day while reflecting on the patriotism and compassion that define us as Americans,” he said. “We are also forever grateful to our first responders, law enforcement officers, armed forces, and intelligence officers for the extraordinary sacrifices they make to protect our country each and every day.”
There will be ceremonial and memorials throughout the state and region, certainly too many to list here.
But this we can say: If you can, take a moment to share your recollections of that day with someone in the younger generation, someone who was born after that day.
Doing so is the only way we will Never Forget.
