Accordia on Monday announced it successfully closed on the acquisition of the property for its new luxury apartment development, “The Vail,” in West Caldwell. The firm has also received final site plan approval from the municipality, with groundbreaking for the 92-unit community scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
Located at 780 Passaic Avenue, directly across from the Mountain Ridge Country Club, The Vail will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments designed for today’s diverse renter population. Each unit will feature high-end appliances and in-unit washer/dryers, with select residences including private balconies.
Gregory Wovna, senior vice president of development at Accordia, praised the township’s collaboration. “West Caldwell has been an amazing town to work with,” he said. “They’ve been supportive and responsive every step of the way, and we are ecstatic to be part of the community.”
The project is part of Accordia’s strategic goal to deliver long-term value through thoughtfully designed communities. According to Principal Jason Bogart, “The Vail will serve everyone from commuters and professionals to families and those looking to downsize.”
Residents will have access to a variety of amenities, including a fully equipped fitness center, a community room, coworking offices, and reserved covered parking. The project’s architect, Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, a Lambertville-based firm known for its expertise in designing multifamily buildings, is a key partner in the development.
West Caldwell’s location, approximately 16 miles west of New York City, offers convenient access to major highways and public transit, making it an ideal destination for commuters and families seeking a blend of suburban calm and regional access. The township is also known for its excellent municipal services and school system.
