Archer & Greiner announced on Monday that Bozena (Bonnie) Diaz joined the firm’s Hackensack office as a partner in its Business Counseling and Tax Groups. Diaz, who joins from Cullen and Dykman LLP in New York, where she served as chair of the Tax Department, advises clients on a comprehensive range of general and transactional tax issues related to domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs, joint ventures, and more.
Diaz has a distinguished track record counseling clients on the tax implications of business and real estate joint ventures, restructurings and workouts, and both taxable and tax-free reorganizations. Her practice also includes a significant international tax component, and she frequently advises developers and investors on the tax aspects of renewable energy transactions. In addition, she provides guidance on employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including the design, implementation, and compliance of retirement, welfare, and cafeteria plans.
“Bonnie brings exceptional tax insight and a practical, solutions-driven approach that will greatly benefit our clients,” Deborah Hays, chair of Archer and head of the Business Counseling Group said. “Her experience with complex transactions and evolving international tax issues makes her a valuable addition to our team.”
On joining Archer, Diaz said, “I’m thrilled to join Archer’s respected corporate and tax practices. It’s an exciting time to be part of the firm, with major tax law changes underway both domestically and internationally, and I look forward to working with such a talented team of attorneys.”
