The Cardiac Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has announced it will open a new outpatient facility in Somerset this April. The move underscores the hospital’s ongoing mission to bring its world-renowned pediatric heart care directly to families in the Garden State.

Located at 61 Veronica Avenue, the Somerset clinic is designed to provide a more accessible option for families in Central Jersey managing congenital and acquired heart disease.
The new facility will be anchored by a team of veteran CHOP clinicians who have served New Jersey families for over two decades. The medical staff includes:
- Sumekala Nadaraj, MBBS, FAAP
- Ezequiel Sagray, MD
- Michele Cohen, DO
- Chandni Patel, MD, MBA
“We are excited to continue providing CHOP’s world-class pediatric cardiac services in a convenient location for families in central New Jersey,” Dr. Vivek Allada, medical director of outpatient and community cardiology at CHOP said. “As the top-ranked pediatric cardiology program in the region, we remain committed to delivering the highest quality care closer to home.”
The Somerset location will cater to both new and existing patients, offering a suite of non-invasive diagnostic tools and specialized consultations. Key services available at the new site include:
- Cardiology Clinic Visits: Routine and specialized follow-ups.
- Non-Invasive Testing: EKG, Holter tests, and IAC-accredited pediatric echocardiograms (ECHO).
- Fetal Cardiology: Fetal echocardiography and consultations in partnership with CHOP’s nationally recognized Fetal Heart Program, which specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions before birth.
The Somerset clinic joins an extensive network of CHOP outpatient cardiology services—one of the largest in the nation. CHOP currently operates 16 Care Network locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with existing New Jersey specialty and surgery centers in Voorhees, Plainsboro, and Mays Landing.
In addition to its standalone clinics, CHOP’s cardiac experts collaborate with over 30 community hospitals throughout the region, ensuring that specialized consultations and diagnostic services are never far from home for New Jersey’s pediatric patients.
The new Somerset facility features free parking and a patient-centered design intended to reduce the stress of travel and hospital visits for local families.
