CoreWeave, the Livingston-headquartered cloud provider, on Thursday announced a definitive agreement to acquire Marimo Inc., the creator of the open-source marimo notebook.
The acquisition is designed to integrate Marimo’s AI-native, reactive Python development environment directly into the CoreWeave Cloud, strengthening CoreWeave’s vertically integrated platform and accelerating the entire AI lifecycle for developers—from training and inference to deployment and continuous iteration.

Integrating open-source innovation
Marimo’s flagship product, the marimo notebook, offers a fully reproducible and git-friendly programming environment tailored for AI and data workloads. Its integration will empower developers to move seamlessly from initial experimentation to large-scale production deployments on CoreWeave’s infrastructure.
Akshay Agrawal, co-founder and chief executive officer of Marimo, highlighted the shared vision. “Joining CoreWeave lets us double down on that vision and execute on it at an even greater scale. Our shared goal is to build the world’s best programming environment for AI and data work.”
The acquisition will augment CoreWeave’s existing developer platform, which has recently expanded through a series of strategic deals, including the earlier acquisitions of Weights & Biases and OpenPipe, and the intent to acquire Monolith AI this month.
