Kearny Bank announced the promotion of Boonton resident Allen Apgar to the position of 2nd Vice President / Senior IT Manager.
In his elevated leadership role, Apgar will spearhead the day-to-day operations of the financial institution’s corporate information technology team. His core responsibilities include comprehensive oversight of corporate systems infrastructure, enterprise digital security architectures, and daily network maintenance across the bank’s regional footprint.
Apgar has been an integral part of the Kearny Bank technical team since 2018, joining the company following its formal corporate acquisition of Clifton Savings Bank (CSBK). Prior to this latest executive advancement, he served as Vice President / IT Security Operations, where he managed defensive digital protocols and network protections.
“Allen knows our systems inside and out, and the team relies on him to ensure everything consistently runs at peak effectiveness,” Jeff Dunn, 1st Vice President and Director of Information Technology at Kearny Bank said. “When it comes to our daily operations, we look forward to Allen being an outstanding leader.”
Apgar brings a deeply specialized technical background to the bank’s executive technology tier. He is a graduate of the Chubb Institute, where he completed intensive professional certifications in network engineering, a foundation that has guided his career through the rapidly changing landscape of digital banking security.
The promotion positions Apgar at the helm of day-to-day operations during an era when financial institutions face tightening federal cybersecurity regulations and increased reliance on cloud-based consumer banking platforms.
