Fasanello, a former federal prosecutor in N.J., joins Mandelbaum Barrett

Joins firm as partner in its White Collar and Criminal Defense, Litigation, Healthcare, and Appellate Advocacy practice groups

Samantha Fasanello, a former federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, has joined Mandelbaum Barrett as a partner in its White Collar and Criminal Defense, Litigation, Healthcare, and Appellate Advocacy practice groups.

Fasanello will represent individuals and corporate clients in criminal matters, internal and government investigations and high-stakes commercial disputes. She will advise clients responding to subpoenas and regulatory inquiries and defends against federal and state criminal charges, drawing on her background as a prosecutor to identify weaknesses in the government’s case and develop practical, effective defense strategies.

As a former federal prosecutor and trial lawyer, she brings significant experience handling white collar criminal matters, government and regulatory investigations and complex commercial disputes.

During her tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, she investigated and prosecuted more than 100 matters and supervised hundreds of additional cases, including RICO prosecutions and sophisticated fraud investigations. Her work regularly involved coordination with federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Before her government service, Fasanello practiced at a New Jersey litigation boutique, where she defended clients in criminal and civil matters. She previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stuart Rabner, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Fasanello, who earned her J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, said she’s eager to be a part of the team.

“Mandelbaum Barrett has built a strong reputation for handling complex, high-stakes matters with a collaborative and client-focused approach,” she said. “I’m excited to join the firm and work alongside attorneys who are deeply committed to obtaining just results through thoughtful advocacy and implementation of practical solutions.”

Robert Scrivo, co-chair of Mandelbaum Barrett’s White Collar and Criminal Defense practice group, applauded the announcement.

“Samantha brings the kind of real-world prosecutorial experience that clients need when facing serious government scrutiny,” he said. “She understands how investigations are built, how charging decisions are made, and how cases are tried. Samantha’s experience, coupled with her high intellect and sound judgment, immediately strengthens our team.”
