The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), a leading academic medical center for musculoskeletal health, has opened a new Spine Center in Paramus. This new facility aims to bring world-class back and neck care closer to residents of Northern New Jersey, providing a multidisciplinary approach to spine health.
The Paramus Spine Center is part of a broader expansion by HSS in the region, which also includes the recent opening of a full-service outpatient center, HSS Paramus – Midland Ave, and the HSS Northern NJ Surgery Center in Mahwah. These facilities together offer a wide range of surgical and non-surgical care to the local community.
“HSS has long set the standard for excellence and innovation in spinal care,” Dr. Bryan Kelly, president and CEO of HSS said. “The Spine Center reflects our commitment to making high-quality care accessible to local communities as well as the growing need for spine services in New Jersey.”
The new center features an integrated, team-based approach to care, with specialists in spine surgery, pain management, neurology, physiatry, and radiology all working together. This collaboration ensures that each patient receives a personalized treatment plan, whether for common issues or highly complex conditions like scoliosis.

HSS emphasizes that conservative, non-surgical treatment is always the first line of care. However, if surgery is required, HSS spine surgeons are at the forefront of robotic-assisted and minimally invasive procedures. Surgical procedures will be performed at the HSS Northern NJ Surgery Center in Mahwah or at the main HSS hospital in Manhattan.
