Mandelbaum Barrett PC welcomes Partner Julia Belton

Mandelbaum Barrett PC on Tuesday announced the addition of Julia Belton as a partner in its Corporate Practice Group. Belton, a highly regarded corporate attorney with extensive experience in the health care sector, joins the firm from Garfunkel Wild, PC.

Based in the firm’s Roseland office, Belton will leverage her background in transactional and regulatory law to advise businesses, professional practices, and health care organizations on a broad range of strategic matters. Her arrival bolsters Mandelbaum Barrett’s multidisciplinary 360-degree approach to legal services.

Belton brings a sophisticated understanding of the regulatory hurdles that define the modern health care industry. Her practice focuses on navigating complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, and stringent compliance requirements.

Her expertise covers critical regulatory areas, including:

  • Medicare and Medicaid enrollment: Navigating complex federal and state billing requirements.

  • Corporate practice of medicine: Advising on legal structures and compliance with state licensure laws.

  • M&A and change of ownership (CHOW): Managing the regulatory transitions inherent in healthcare transactions.

  • Practice governance: Drafting equity ownership and employment agreements for specialized providers.

Belton represents a wide-reaching roster of clients, including dental practice groups, Management Service Organizations (MSOs), ABA therapy providers, home health agencies, and physician practice groups.

What sets Belton apart is her background prior to law. She served as a strategy consultant for top pharmaceutical companies and executive teams, a role that honed her ability to see legal challenges through a commercial lens.

“Julia is recognized as a trusted advisor who enables businesses and healthcare organizations to navigate complex transactions while advancing their strategic goals,” William Barrett, CEO of Mandelbaum Barrett PC, said. “Her solutions-oriented approach will be a great asset to our team.”

Belton is a multi-year honoree on the Chambers USA list for Healthcare and has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Health Care Law (2023–2026) and Banking and Finance Law (2026).

“I’m excited to join Mandelbaum Barrett PC, which offers sizeable resources along with a collaborative and client-focused approach,” Belton said. “The Corporate Practice Group is an extraordinary team of attorneys who seek practical and favorable solutions to our clients’ needs.”

Belton earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.S. from St. Joseph’s University. She is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York.
