Marquis Health Consulting Services establishes Mark Parkinson Higher Achievement Award

Seven recipients cited for excellence in program bearing long-time AHCA/NCAL leader’s name

Marquis Health Consulting Services recently recognized seven recipients of its newly established Mark Parkinson Higher Achievement Award. Marquis provides administrative consulting services to skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities along the Eastern Seaboard.

Named in honor of the recently retired, former American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living president and chief executive officer, the recipients were celebrated at the company’s black-tie gala, attended by senior leadership, clients, partners and industry advocates. Clif Porter, AHCA/NCAL’s newly installed president and chief executive officer, served as presenter.

For nearly 15 years, Marquis Health Consulting Services has been focused on helping its clients set new standards of excellence in the long-term care and senior living industries. “I am truly honored and humbled to have this award bear my name,” Parkinson said. “The opportunity that I’ve had to work with, and on behalf of, Marquis has been inspiring, and it makes this award even more meaningful.”

“Mark Parkinson is a long-time friend to the Marquis family and led AHCA/NCAL with exceptional vision and dedication,” Norman Rokeach, president and founder of Marquis Limited said. “This award emphasizes the approach to leadership that sets Marquis Health Consulting Services apart and our pride in the many leaders who have risen within and alongside the organization. My sincere congratulations to the inaugural recipients.”

This year’s honorees — selected with input from Marquis clients and colleagues — include Marquis’ Adam Goldman, chief human resources officer; Dana Perrella, vice president of recruitment; Sara Kohn, regional director of network development, Jersey Shore; Danielle Koons, regional vice president of market development, Pennsylvania; Carly Veiga, regional director of operations; and Julian Yabut, regional director of dining. Dr. Yogesh Viroja, chief medical officer, Clinical Care Consulting, was also recognized.

Parkinson began his career as an attorney prior to founding Eldercare, a skilled nursing and senior living company in Kansas. His leadership then extended to the political arena where he served as Governor of Kansas. Parkinson in 2011 took on the role of president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL, the country’s largest association representing long-term and post-acute care providers. The Association is now celebrating its 75th anniversary.

“I have been fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues and mentors who have shaped my journey,” Parkinson added. “My hope is that this award will inspire others to push boundaries, lead with passion and make a meaningful impact in our profession. I look forward to celebrating the outstanding individuals who will carry this legacy forward.”
