The Valley Hospital has received reaccreditation by The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care certification program for disease-specific care in total hip and total knee replacement.
This recertification recognizes Valley’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety for those undergoing total hip and total knee replacement procedures. Reaccreditation confirms Valley’s ability to meet standards in medication management, diabetes care and participation in performance measurement and data collection.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess, and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
“Valley is proud to continually meet the standards of safety, high-quality care, and the most up-to-date, evidence-based practice guidelines,” Charles Vannoy, VP of patient care services and chief nursing officer at The Valley Hospital. “Our team practices quality metrics, tracks safety, and remains innovative in our care.”
“As a health care accreditor, The Joint Commission works with healthcare organizations across care settings to inspire safer and higher quality of care that is more equitable and compassionate,” Ken Grubbs, the EVP of accreditation and certification operations and chief nursing officer for The Joint Commission said. “Through collaborating on innovative solutions and evidence-based resources and tools, The Joint Commission helps drive improvement while maintaining accountability through our leading survey methods and standards. We commend The Valley Hospital for its commitment to advance safety, quality, equity, and compassion for all patients.”
