Franco Fruit Carving transforms fruit into showstopping centerpieces

Rojas creates hand-crafted displays that captivate guests at any event

For more than five years, Casiano Franco has perfected his craft: turning fresh fruit into edible sculpture.

As the owner of Franco Fruit Carving, he has built a business that specializes in creating elaborate fruit displays for events of all sizes.

His latest work was on display last Friday night at the launch of Crowdy at La Fortaleza in Carlstadt, where Franco carved both company names into watermelons that anchored an already impressive display.

Franco has a way of making fruit feel festive.

And while he makes it look easy, it’s not.

Every piece begins long before the first cut. Franco handles every step himself, from selecting the produce to the final carved detail. A smaller display typically takes about two hours, while larger installations can take closer to four.

“It’s a lot of work,” he said. “A simple piece might be two hours, but when you add the shopping and planning, you’re talking about nearly 10 hours for a big job.”

His clientele ranges from intimate gatherings to large corporate events, from small parties to galas with 500 people.

“If you’re having a celebration, we can build something special out of fruit for you,” he said.

What sets Franco Fruit Carving apart is its full-service approach. Clients aren’t just ordering a centerpiece — they’re bringing in an artist.

“You don’t have to worry about anything,” Franco said. “I shop, I carve, I deliver. You just enjoy the reaction when people see it.”

Lilia Rios, Founder and Owner of Crowdy, said she saw it all night long.

“The artistry, presentation, and attention to detail were exceptional,” she said. “The display became a centerpiece of the entire launch experience and perfectly matched the vibrant energy and visual identity of Crowdy. It was elegant, unforgettable, and executed with true professionalism.

“It ultimately became one of the most talked-about elements of the night.”

That is just what Franco loves to hear.

“It’s more than just a food display; it’s something people remember after the party is over,” he said.
