Strategically positioning itself for the oncoming rush of shore-season foot traffic, coastal lifestyle and interior design brand DUNE by Sean Kelly announced the upcoming grand opening of its brand-new flagship retail destination.
Slated to open to the public on May 29 the brand is relocating from its original Cape May Court House roots into a sprawling 3,000-square-foot immersive space located at 1707 New Jersey Avenue in the heart of North Wildwood. The high-visibility storefront will serve a dual corporate purpose: functioning as an upscale retail showroom for the public while acting as the primary creative headquarters for Kelly’s full-service interior design firm.
The expansion aligns with a broader macroeconomic trend sweeping through Cape May County, as affluent primary and secondary homebuyers from the Philadelphia suburbs and South Jersey pour capital into high-end coastal real estate.
Kelly has established a dominant footprint in this exact luxury residential sector, recently completing three multi-million-dollar residential design projects within a tight two-block radius on Surf Avenue in North Wildwood alone.
By consolidating retail inventory and bespoke consulting services under one roof, the company’s business model aims to capture a frictionless slice of the design market. Beach homeowners can browse a curated floor of immediate-takeaway décor while simultaneously scheduling full-scale structural design consultations for their primary inland properties or vacation estates.
The new showroom floor will feature a heavily elevated inventory mix, blending massive national furniture brands with specialized regional artisans.
The flagship store has established official supplier partnerships with high-end home furnishing and lifestyle labels including:
- Case Goods & Seating: Bernhardt, Universal Furniture, and Braxton Culler.
- Textiles & Accents: Ernesto Rugs, Lilly Pulitzer, and Shutter and Frame.
- Aromatics & Local Goods: Old Whaling Co. Candles and custom vintage embroidery pieces by local artisan brand MelMade.
“The Jersey Shore has always been a place people come to feel inspired—to recharge, to invest in their homes, to create spaces that mean something to them. DUNE was built for that client,” Sean Kelly, founder and lead designer said. “Our new space gives people access to a truly all-encompassing design experience.”
Beyond residential real estate, Kelly has also been aggressively diversifying his business portfolio into local commercial sectors. His recent commercial interior achievements include designing Exit 6—a highly anticipated new hospitality and bar concept in Wildwood that launched earlier this month—as well as extensive consulting work on The Beach House Condos.
To maintain steady project volume, Kelly operates via joint-venture development agreements with several of the region’s prominent luxury homebuilders and real estate firms, including the Nick Giuffre Group, Yellow Door Development, and Vallese Builders. The new flagship location acts as a permanent, centralized hub to manage these scaling B2B partnerships alongside the core consumer retail operation.
