Sylmar Group, a national leader in industrial water solutions, has announced the acquisition of Butler Water Corrections, Inc., a Hamilton-based pioneer in environmentally responsible water treatment.
The deal unites Sylmar’s national scale with one of the Garden State’s oldest specialized firms. Founded in 1938, Butler has spent nearly nine decades building a reputation for “forward-thinking” treatment of heating and cooling systems, food service equipment, and complex industrial applications.
Butler is widely recognized for its early leadership in cathodic protection and its portfolio of patented technologies. Long before sustainability became a corporate buzzword, the Hamilton-based company was focused on developing easy-to-use programs that reduced the environmental footprint of institutional and commercial water systems.
“Butler represents a rare combination of longevity, technical excellence, and customer service-driven innovation,” Michael Warady, president and co-founder of Sylmar Groups said. “Their 88-year history of ensuring high-quality water treatment outcomes aligns closely with how we think about the future of water management.”
For Sylmar Group, the acquisition is a strategic move to solidify its position as the leading regional water player in the Northeastern United States. The addition of Butler’s expertise will immediately strengthen Sylmar’s ability to serve:
- Education and Government: Protecting the infrastructure of schools and public buildings.
- Hospitality: Managing water quality for large-scale hotels and resorts.
- Industrial Facilities: Ensuring efficiency in New Jersey’s dense manufacturing corridors.
Sylmar intends to maintain Butler’s existing product lines and established customer relationships while injecting new capital and technical resources to fuel product development.
“Joining Sylmar allows us to rise to the next level of service and reach a wider customer market,” Chad Hetzell, president of Butler Water Corrections said. “We’re excited to be part of an organization that shares our long-standing commitment to practical water treatment.”
The acquisition signals a continued trend of consolidation within the water treatment industry, as national providers look to absorb regional experts with deep-rooted local reputations.
