Archer bolsters Corporate Practice with appointment of Lisa Bothwell as of Counsel

Law firm Archer has announced that seasoned attorney Lisa Bothwell has joined its Corporate Practice Group as Of Counsel in the firm’s Princeton office.

Bothwell brings a wealth of experience in guiding entrepreneurs, investors, and business entities through complex corporate matters, ranging from high-stakes mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to daily operational strategy. Her addition is expected to significantly strengthen Archer’s transactional capabilities across the region.

Throughout her career, Bothwell has managed and supported dozens of buy-side and sell-side transactions, boasting an aggregate value exceeding $200 million. Her expertise covers the entire lifecycle of a deal, including:

  • Structuring and due diligence
  • Negotiation of definitive agreements
  • Closing execution

Her diverse industry background includes work in technology, manufacturing, health care, construction, hospitality and the nonprofit sector.

Beyond transactional law, Bothwell serves as outside general counsel for family-owned and closely held businesses. In this capacity, she provides executive teams with guidance on corporate strategy, risk management, compliance, and employment matters.

“Lisa’s combination of transactional experience and ongoing business counseling makes her a tremendous addition to our team,” Deborah Hays, chair of Archer’s Corporate Practice Group said. “Her work across M&A, governance, capital formation, and outside general counsel matters enhances our ability to help clients navigate both significant transactions and the day-to-day decisions that drive long-term success.”

At Archer, Bothwell will work in tandem with the firm’s tax, employment, and litigation groups. Her practice also encompasses specialized areas such as joint ventures, business separations, phantom interest plans, and succession planning.

“I am excited to join Archer and work alongside such a talented group of attorneys,” Bothwell said. “Throughout my career, I have focused on helping business owners and management teams navigate critical decisions… Archer’s collaborative platform and breadth of experience will allow me to continue delivering the practical, business-focused counsel clients value.”

The firm noted that Bothwell’s arrival aligns with its broader goal of providing integrated, strategic counsel to help clients capitalize on growth opportunities in an evolving business landscape.
