Benchmark at Roseland, a premier assisted living and mind and memory care community, has officially appointed Shannon Basile as its new executive director.
Basile steps into the leadership role with more than 15 years of operational experience in senior living and aging services, specializing in resident-centered care, community relations, and team building.
In her new role Basile will take direct charge of day-to-day operations at the Roseland facility. Her responsibilities include the recruitment, coaching, and supervision of community associates and volunteers, alongside maintaining the facility’s clinical and hospitality standards.
Basile is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA) and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from Touro University.
Before joining the Benchmark Senior Living network, Basile served as the Resident Care Coordinator for Sunrise Senior Living in Staten Island, New York. Her career portfolio also includes a tenure as Service Manager at A Very Special Place, a specialized advocacy and service provider based in Staten Island.

The leadership appointment marks a continuing evolution for the local senior community. Benchmark Senior Living initially entered the New Jersey market in October 2025 via a strategic joint venture with National Development, acquiring the 85-apartment asset formerly known as Arbor Terrace Roseland. The transaction was backed by institutional financing from Synovus Bank.
The community is already yielding strong performance markers under the Benchmark umbrella. The property was recently named one of the top senior living communities in the state and nation, securing premier honors in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living ratings.
