Georgian Court University appointed Dr. Jennifer Edmonds as the Dean of its newly established School of Business, Education, Liberal Arts, and Sciences effective July 1.
The appointment marks a pivotal shift for the university as it consolidates several academic pillars into a single, unified school designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and modern teaching approaches. Edmonds, an experienced leader within the university, currently serves as the Dean of the School of Business & Digital Media and Executive Director of the Center for Digital Learning.
Since joining Georgian Court in 2019, Edmonds has been a driving force behind the university’s digital transformation. Under her leadership at the Center for Digital Learning, she spearheaded the expansion of online degree programs and established new course development standards that have significantly enhanced the student experience.
Her tenure has been defined by a focus on workforce alignment, ensuring that academic programs evolve alongside the demands of the modern economy.
“I am honored to step into this role at such an important time for Georgian Court,” Edmonds said. “My priority is to ensure our students have an excellent academic experience while preparing them for today’s workforce and tomorrow’s opportunities.”
The formation of the School of Business, Education, Liberal Arts, and Sciences reflects a strategic effort to streamline university operations and encourage academic synergy. By bringing these diverse disciplines under one leadership structure, the university aims to create more innovative learning pathways for its students.
“Dr. Edmonds is an innovative and thoughtful leader who is exceptionally well suited for this role,” Dr. Eugene Cornacchia, Interim President, said. “I am confident her leadership will build on our mission and position the university for continued success.”
Edmonds brings over 20 years of higher education experience to the new deanship. Before her time at Georgian Court, she held several administrative and leadership roles at Wilkes University, including Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Programs.
Her academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. and MBA from Rutgers University.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Edmonds will officially transition into her new role this July, where she will oversee the integration of the university’s academic divisions and continue to drive student success initiatives across the new school.
