Sylmar Group, a prominent national player in industrial water and wastewater treatment, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Somerset-based Tower Water, the premier provider of water treatment and Legionella compliance services in the New York City metropolitan area.
The acquisition marks a major milestone for Sylmar Group as it strengthens its regional density and continues to build a comprehensive, nationwide network of localized technical water treatment providers.
Tower Water joins a growing roster of specialized brands under the Sylmar Water Treatment umbrella, which already includes EAI Water, Clearwater Industries, R2J Chemical Services, Eastern Technologies Inc. (ETI), Butler Chemical, and ProChem Water.
By combining the strengths of Tower Water with its existing regional assets, Clearwater and Butler, Sylmar Group is positioning itself as the leading service provider across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
“Tower Water has set the standard in the NY/NJ market—one of the most demanding water treatment environments in the country—for decades,” Michael Warady, co-founder of Sylmar Group said.
Founded in 1992 by Russell and Noah Baskin, Tower Water began as a modest, two-person cooling tower cleaning business. Over the last 35 years, it has evolved into a highly respected organization employing more than 50 professionals.
Today, the company is widely recognized for its deep regulatory expertise, particularly in HVAC water treatment, Legionella management and mitigation, and the flushing and commissioning of piping systems. Its diverse client portfolio spans:
- Commercial real estate portfolios
- Residential high-rises
- Healthcare and pharmaceutical facilities
- Data centers and educational institutions
Tower Water’s service footprint covers New York City, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and southern Connecticut.
According to Tower Water’s leadership, the partnership with Sylmar Group is designed to preserve the company’s strong workplace culture while unlocking resources for future scaling.
“We wanted a partner which would carry on this sentiment long past our tenure,” Noah Baskin, CEO & co-founder of Tower Water said. “Sylmar will elevate us to a new level, where we’re able to deliver more to our clients, and provide our teammates the future that they deserve.”
President and Founder Russell Baskin echoed the sentiment, noting that Sylmar’s approach aligns with their core values. “Sylmar Group isn’t here to change who we are; they’re here to help us grow into who we can become,” he stated.
Both companies will continue operating with a shared focus on technical excellence and customer service. Further details regarding the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
